Why do I have to remove my wisdom teeth?

For a lot of people, there often isn't enough space in the jaw for these new teeth to come in properly. Think of it like trying to squeeze one more car into an already full parking spot – things can get a little crowded and messy! When wisdom teeth don't have enough room, they can get stuck (we call that "impacted"), and they might start growing at a weird angle pushing against other teeth, gums and your jaw.

Listen! I drive a long way to come here and it's worth every penny. After comparing with multiple doctors near me they were the only people that I trusted at that price range for my Invisalign. The office is amazing and the staff is even better. If your brackets fall off they replace them for free. Everything in there is so high-tech and futuristic. Couldn't recommend them more!

When Should I remove my wisdom teeth?

Proactive Removal (in younger individuals): Many dentists recommend removal in late adolescence or early adulthood (like your early 20s) even if problems aren't currently present. This is because:
  • Healing tends to be faster and easier at a younger age.
  • Roots are not yet fully developed, making extraction simpler.
  • It can prevent future complications from arising.

Step 2: In-Person Consultation & Records Collection

During your in-person consultation, we’ll take X-rays, a digital scan, and CT Scan as well as a thorough medical history review.. You’ll receive a detailed quote, a treatment sequence, and a timeline. We will also go over all the necessary paperwork and consent forms. If you’re ready, we’ll start planning your next step.

Step 5: Post Op Visit

After about a week, we always want to see our patients to ensure the area is healing well. During this visit, we will irrigate the area and remove any remaining sutures ( they usually fall out by now). We have no limit on the number of post op visits so we are happy to keep checking the area until your healing is completed.

What Makes Us Different:

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you evaluate the position of my wisdom teeth before surgery?

At LA Dental, we utilize the latest CT technology to accurately map out the location of your wisdom teeth roots as well as any surrounding structures such as nerves and sinuses. This allows for a more precise and safer removal procedure.

How do you ensure patient comfort during wisdom teeth removal?

We understand that dental work can be anxiety-inducing, which is why we offer various sedation options to help you relax during your wisdom teeth removal surgery. Many patients find that they are completely at ease and often don't remember the procedure.

What is PRP, and how does it benefit healing after wisdom teeth removal at LA Dental?

PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. We add PRP to all of our wisdom teeth removal cases. This helps the treated area heal much faster and better, and it has significantly reduced the rate of post-operative complications like dry socket for our patients.

What does the wisdom teeth removal service at LA Dental include beyond the extraction itself?

Our comprehensive wisdom teeth removal service includes a pre-operative consultation, a detailed CT scan, sedation during the procedure, the application of PRP to aid healing, the administration of extra anti-inflammatory medication during surgery to minimize swelling, and all necessary post-operative follow-up visits to ensure proper healing

Do i need invisalign before veneers?

If your teeth are misaligned and your bite is not correct, you would benefit from invisalign before veneers. At LA Dental, we plan your veneers and invisalign together. This means that we do the smile design first, then move your teeth with invisalign to sit right behind where we want the veneers. This way we don’t have to shave down your teeth and can be as non-invasive as possible when preparing for your veneers.

Can I get no prep veneers?

No prep veneers can work if your teeth are already smaller than the final shape of the veneers we plan. For most patients, we may do a combination of prep and no-prep veneers to do a smile makeover.
